The VW Type 82E is a combination of the off-road chassis of the Type 82 and the body of the KdF car, which later became known as the "VW Beetle". The Type 82E vehicle therefore only had rear-wheel drive, while the Type 87, which also had a KdF body, had four driven wheels.
